As one of the key projects for Historic Green 2008, green deconstruction of 5200 Dauphine Street began on Monday and continues all week and into next. Once restored, this historic shotgun/camelback will become the new home of Holy Cross's Center for Sustainable Engagement & Development.
This house and deconstruction project was made possible through a partnership with the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans (PRC), a long-time supporter of the neighborhood through their "Operation Comeback" initiative. Leading the deconstruction is Hal Collums of Hal Collums Construction, LLC and Rick Denhart, Director of Mercy Corps Gulf Coast Hurricane Recovery Program. A very, very special thank you to Pam Bryan and Maryann Miller of PRC for their invaluable assistance and project coordination.
